In 2023 I signed up for Dickie Bush & Nicolas Cole's cohort-based course, Ship 30 for 30.
The course was a GAME CHANGER for me. It taught me so much about writing on the internet- a necessary skill as a social media manager.
But here's where I get honest: I didn't write for 30 days straight.
Instead, I dropped around day 12 and focused on other work. Important work, but I failed at my goal.
Here are my reasons for starting again to accomplish my goal of 30 atomic essays in 30 days:
I still want to accomplish my original goal of writing 30 atomic essays in 30 days.
Sometimes, we fail.
Things don't go to plan. Work, family, moving, mental health... you get the idea. But despite my initial failure, I want to try again to reach my goal. It's still important to me.
And when (not if, because failing is a part of life) I fail at a goal in the future- I want to be the resilience to keep trying until I make it.
Writing is a skill I always want to be working on.
I have read books on how to improve my writing. I watched YouTube video after video on writers, listened to podcasts, talked to writers, and took courses... but the only way to improve your writing is to write.
The forever student in me cringes at this.
But writing for 30 days (and beyond) is how I aim to improve.
And I am excited for the challenge because writing online isn't JUST what I want to do. I want to write plays, novels, short stories, poems.
I have more in me than atomic essays.
I see atomic essays as the jumping-off point to my writing.
I will write my atomic essays on social media, marketing, and being a creator online. However, my creativity is not limited. I have plays, novels, short stories, and poems that I want to write.
And building the writing habit is sure to get me to my goals.

I'm excited to start sharing what I know online.
